At Limak Çimento, we place water scarcity—one of the most critical consequences of global warming and climate change—at the focal point of our business continuity and environmental responsibility. Aware that the regions in which we operate are under "medium-high" water stress, we view water not merely as a production input, but as a vital natural heritage that must be protected. Accordingly, in order to minimize our "water footprint," we pursue a holistic management strategy that blends digital transformation with operational efficiency.
We support the steps we take to protect our water resources with measurable data and technological infrastructure: as a result of our water-saving-focused modernization efforts, we have begun to achieve successful results in resource consumption.
Digital Water Monitoring and Smart Systems:
We are digitalizing our facilities in order to manage the water cycle with real-time data. Through digital monitoring systems at our plants, we track every drop of water from its source to the point of final use. While these systems enable immediate detection of and response to potential losses and leaks, they also strengthen our data-driven decision-making processes.
The momentum we have demonstrated in the water security program of the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP)—the world's most prestigious environmental reporting platform—is attracting attention on a global scale. We raised the performance we have reported regularly since 2021 from the "B (Management)" level in 2024 to the "A- (Leadership)" level in 2025. With this achievement, we have inscribed our name on the worldwide "Water Leaders" list, affirming our transparency and management quality.
For our plants, whose water stress levels we monitor within the scope of our CDP and ESG work, Water Risk Assessment and Management Plan Reports were prepared for all our plants as a result of literature, scientific, and field studies, together with the firm with which we have begun working as a strategic partner to carry out detailed analyses of future projections and to set out action plans.
