As Limak Cement, in line with our goal of building a sustainable future, we embed climate action at the heart of our business and operations. We pursue a comprehensive decarbonization strategy to minimize the environmental impacts of our production processes. This strategy includes a wide range of innovative solutions, from raw material and fuel use to energy efficiency, carbon capture and storage technologies. Our goal is to reach Net-Zero Emissions by 2050.
With our emission reduction targets approved by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) in 2025, Limak Cement has officially put into action a transformation roadmap aligned with the global 1.5°C scenario. While this development turns our low-carbon production vision into a stronger corporate commitment, it also brings with it an important responsibility in our sector as one of the pioneering companies in Türkiye to receive this approval. We do not base our low-carbon production approach on a single technology or a single process improvement; instead, we manage it through a holistic transformation model extending from clinker to cement, from concrete to carbonation processes. Increasing the use of alternative fuels, expanding the use of alternative raw materials, reducing the clinker ratio, and developing next-generation binder technologies form the main components of this roadmap. At the same time, through our work on advanced solutions such as hydrogen-blended fuel use and carbon capture technologies, we contribute to the development of critical technologies that will shape the future of the sector.
In line with our decarbonization strategy, we aim to reduce our carbon footprint across every process from cradle to grave, and we continue on our path by making new investments and developing our human resources in order to take the necessary actions to prevent the climate crisis.
