Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) is a systematic approach used to evaluate the environmental impacts associated with all stages of a product's life cycle, from raw material extraction and production to usage and disposal. In the context of cement products, cradle-to-gate LCA focuses specifically on the processes from raw material sourcing (cradle) through production and packaging, up to the point where the product leaves the production site (gate). This methodology enables manufacturers to identify opportunities for optimization and sustainability improvements by providing a comprehensive overview of resource consumption, energy use, and emissions. The cement industry can develop strategies to reduce its carbon footprint and support circular economy principles by analyzing these impacts.
